Comment: Totti Is A One Man Army

Roma's Francesco Totti has been able to pull the Giallorossi forward and transform their game from a disappointing mess to that of a Serie A contender.

Totti came to the rescue again today with his fourth goal in five games, proving that he is Roma's top player and most important tactical contributor.

An intense and entertaining battle at the Stadio Olimpico ended with a 1-0 victory for Roma thanks to a goal from captain Totti, after end to end action between the Viola and the Giallorossi.

The goal came after a cross from Rodrigo Taddei found Totti at the edge of the Viola box and he unleashed a strike that beat Sebastian Frey in the goal, allowing the Giallorossi to claim all three points on the day.

Totti is so important to the Roma cause in fact, that the player's absence sends the team spiralling out of control, unable to function without their talisman. Since the captain's return from injury the club's fortunes have turned around, allowing them to slowly begin climbing back up the table.

Totti's return too the squad coincided with the club's resurgence, beginning with a 1-0 win over Lazio in the Rome derby two weeks ago followed by a convincing 3-0 victory away to Lecce in the last game, and then a Champions League win against Cluj in midweek and today's win against an impressive Fiorentina side.

His influence on the side's form is incredible, and they seem lost without their captain when he is unavailable, but when he is in the squad I would not bet against the Giallorossi champions.
