The Brazilian has reached a verbal agreement with the club and he will arrive in the summer.
A January move was on the cards but the Rossoneri cannot bring in a non- EU player as their quota is full.
That will change at the end of term and Silva will arrive then. It's good news for Milan as a defender is needed at San Siro.
The club did well to sign him as they beat stiff competition from Inter, Villarreal and Chelsea.Reports suggest the Italians have paid Fluminense around €10 million for the youngster.
The only thing missing is a signature and an official announcement by Milan which is expected later today.
Once again, vice president Adriano Galliani has shown his buying power as he continues to bring in the talent at Milanello.
