Kaladze: Six Points Not A Lot - Or A Little

Last Sunday night Milan suffered their third defeat of the season against Palermo, going down 3-1 at the 'Renzo Barbera' stadium, and thus dropped six points behind leaders Inter, who are cruising on top of the table now. The match evidenced Milan's long-standing defensive problems yet again, and defender Kakhaber Kaladze acknowledges something needs to be done.
"It's not just a problem of the defence," he said. "When Milan were conceding few goals, I always said it was thanks to the whole team, not just the defenders, because a team's defensive phase starts from the strikers. It's important to have compactness between midfielders and strikers.
"In the last two games we have conceded a lot of goals and we are very unhappy about that. I think we have to improve a few things in midfield, because that's a very important zone of the pitch."
The Georgian doesn't think Milan's Scudetto challenge is compromised, however.
"Six points aren't a lot, but it's not a little either. There's still more than half a season to go and many things will change from now until the end," he added. "I'm very disappointed that the difference between us and Inter is six points, but we will reach them in the next games."
Milan can console themselves with the fact that, so far, they are the only team to have beaten Inter in Serie A.
