I Think Raul Will Beat Me - Inzaghi
Milan striker Filippo Inzaghi talked about his goal last night against Portsmouth, which vaulted him to the top of the all-time European goalscorers chart ahead of Raul. However, he thinks that due to Raul's age he will eventually finish his career with more goals than himself.

Yesterday night Filippo Inzaghi scored his umpteenth crucial goal for Milan as his injury time strike away to Portsmouth in the Uefa Cup allowed them to equalise the match at 2-2 and qualify for the next stage. It also allowed Superpippo to become the all-time European goalscorer with 65 goals, two more than Real Madrid front man Raul who had momentarily pipped him after scoring against BATE Borisov in the Champions League.
"It's true that I know my own statistics and keep track of how many goals I've scored, but not of how many Raul or the others have scored," he said. "They told me the Intercontinental Cup didn't count. In fact, they didn't include the two goals I scored last year in Yokohama [in the Club World Cup, which has replaced the old Intercontinental Cup]. But it's not a problem.
"Raul is born in 1977, I think he will beat me in the end. But as an Italian it's nice to be competing with these players."
On his late equaliser last night, the 35-year-old said: "A special goal, because when you are losing 2-0, you make it 2-1, there are a few seconds to go, and you manage to score right in front of the fans wearing the captain's armband... It was the first time I was wearing it. It was all special, very exciting, even though it was just a Uefa Cup match. I'm happy."
He also talked about working with the likes of Ronaldinho, Kaká, Alexandre Pato, and Marco Borriello, players much younger than himself: "I keep training well and know I have everyone's faith. This is a galvanising environment, where I feel a lot of confidence. This shirt has given me a lot of joys.
"I'm now close to 300 goals, I know I have a few left to get there. We will celebrate when I reach 300, because it's a big satisfaction, and I remember the first one I scored at Leffe like it was yesterday. Unfortunately, though, a lot of time has passed."
Asked if he still has any special wishes for his career, Inzaghi said: "No, I can't ask more from destiny, which has allowed me to score two goals in a Champions League final in Athens, two goals in a Club World Cup final in Yokohama. It would be hypocritical to ask more. I thank God for having given me these joys and these possibilities."
