AC Milan’s Andrea Pirlo has been out on the sidelines for more than two months due to a serious muscular strain to his thigh. The midfielder has missed several key fixtures, as well as the resurgence of the Rossoneri following their dreadful opening two rounds of the campaign.

Coincidentally, Milan have not lost since Pirlo's forced absence from the team, however many view him as an integral part of the line-up, and the club, along with his teammates, are eagerly awaiting his return from injury.

Thankfully for their sake, Pirlo is set to make his long awaited comeback when the Milanese club travel to Turin to face Torino at the Olimpico this weekend.

The club has confirmed that he will take part in the contest, after training well throughout the past two weeks, and successfully getting through each session unscathed.

This is a big boost for coach, Carlo Ancelotti, who will be aware of the fact that despite their positive results of late, his side have been less than convincing in recent weeks.

The Rossoneri controversially overcame Chievo 1-0 at the San Siro last weekend, due to a dubious penalty that was converted by Kaka, whilst their previous two rounds saw them scrap a late 1-0 victory over Napoli before labouring to a 1-1 draw with Lecce.

Gianluca Zambrotta, Massimo Ambrosini, Luca Antonini and Marco Borriello, all trained lightly this week, whilst Daniele Bonera, Gennaro Gattuso and Marek Jankulovski are still to return from international duty.

Their match with Torino kicks off this Sunday at 20:30 CET.
