However, he doesn't believe he or the Portuguese star are the best in the world.
Messi thinks it's 'Dinho.
"Ronaldinho is the best player in the world," Messi told L'Equipe.
"And when you play with the best, everything becomes easy. When someone like that leaves a club then the team needs to fight harder to fill the void.
"I don't think my play has changed much; I will always play in the same ways.
"The Ballon d'Or? I would vote for Cristiano Ronaldo as he won important things last year and he deserves it."
Ronaldinho has been outstanding for Milan and he is quickly getting back to the levels which made him such a great player.
Ronaldo is favorite for the Golden Ball award and it seems like he will win it.
