Inter defender Maicon has qualification for the next phase of the Champions League firmly set in his sights as he prepares to clash with Greek side Panathinaikos on Wednesday night.

The Nerazzurri can qualify for the last 16 with a win but the Brazilian defender knows it will not be easy.

Jose Mourinho's men head into the game full of confidence having beaten Juventus on Saturday night and they are the favourites to win.

"I expect Panathinaikos to attack us like they did against Werder Bremen and they won," Maicon told Sky Sport Italia.

"The are a good side and they play some great football. They did really well against us in the first game but in the end we won that match because we played better than them.

"We didn't do as well against Anorthosis last time out but that is now behind us and we want to achieve qualifcation for the next phase."

The Nerazzurri are hoping to top their group by taking maximum points from tomorrrow night's clash.

The 'Special One' is likely to stick with more or less the same team which won against Juve.
