It is no secret that Real Madrid are searching for a striker after learning that prolific forward Ruud Van Nistelrooy would be out for the rest of the season.

One of the most viable alternatives seem to be Inter's Hernan Crespo, who is spending plenty of time on the bench under coach Jose Mourinho and he will also be eligable to play in the Champions League for Los Merengues.

On Monday, European transfer guru, Ernesto Bronzetti verified the rumours that the side from the Spanish capital were interested in the Argentine, but admitted the deal is unlikely to materialize at the moment.

"They offered a six month contract with an option for a following year," he admitted, meaning if the deal went through, Real Madrid would decide if they want to keep Crespo at the end of the current season. "However, he (Crespo) wants a two year contract. For now, the situation is closed."

Bronzetti then revealed some news regarding Real Madrid's other supposed targets.

"I also know Real could take the Dutchman Jan Huntelaar, as they have the money to spend on him," he suggested. "But Shevchenko is not being considered, he will remain at Milan."
