The Spanish giants are expected to dip into the transfer market in January to find a replacement for injured striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy, who will be out for several months after suffering knee ligament damage.
Crespo’s agent Fernando Hidalgo revealed to Spanish newspaper Marca last week that he has received an offer from the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.
However, it seems as though José Mourinho is not entirely keen on parting company with Valdanito, hence President Massimo Moratti has warned the Merengues that they will need deep pockets to land the marksman.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Beneamata will demand no less than €10m to rubber stamp the deal, but the Spanish champions are confident that they can snap up the player on the cheap, as his contract runs out at the end of this season.
Nonetheless, it remains to be seen whether the Special One will veto the move, as he seems more eager to wave goodbye to Adriano, who has been again frozen out of the squad following his recent off-the-pitch antics.
