The hit-man has been on and off the boil this term and he let himself down when nightclubbing last month, turning up late for training the following day.
Mourinho has since dished out the discipline lessons which seem to have taken effect.
However, Il Corriere Dello Sport claims the Brazilian will be heading back to his homeland.
There was talk that Adriano would have been picked for the game against Palermo tomorrow night, but his absence from training on Tuesday may have cost him the nod from his coach.
Reports suggest Adriano will head back to Brazil on-loan during the January transfer window.
However, there could even be a twist to the story as Inter are keen on Atlético Madrid star Sergio Aguero, and the Brazilian could be inserted as part of a mega €60 million deal.
Il Biscione have always denied the player would be on his way out but it seems as if Adriano himself would prefer to move back to Sao Paulo, where he spent most of last season on loan.
