If Barcelona were to sell the majority of their first team squad they could raise over €1 billion despite the current credit crunch - but it would mean them having to start from scratch.

Sport have outlined the value of the current Blaugrana playing staff in the Confidencial column, which has led to some publications turning the story into an actual transfer piece with Andrés Iniesta, supposedly, interesting Chelsea.

Should the Blues' vague notion of making an approach for Iniesta turn into reality, the Catalan daily reports that Barça would demand that talks would only begin when a bid of €70 million was lodged.

Given that Roman Abramovich and the west London club have stated that the days of lavish spending are over it does appear highly unlikely that anything will actually happen.

Slightly cheaper than the highly-rated midfielder is Samuel Eto'o, who is said to be on Manchester City's radar - but at €60 million may prove to be to rich in taste even for the Middle East backed Premier League billionaires.

Lionel Messi has said to be the main target for Juventus as they look to return to the summit of European football although it would mean the Fiat selling a fair few cars with Barça wanting at least €90 million for the Argentinian.

Carles Puyol has interest AC Milan, Xavi has been linked with Manchester United, Touré Yaya has interested Manchester City and Arsenal while Real Madrid have watched Sergio Busuqets.

All in all, it is unfathomable to consider that Barça would do business for any one of their players at the moment, but Sport often like to promote how good the Catalan club are with columns such as this.
