Pep Guardiola believes that his team were able to beat Osasuna on Sunday evening thanks to their talent after they had taken their foot off the pedal and allowed their opponents back into the game.

Barça secured a 3-2 victory in the Reyno de Navarra after seeing a lead turned over by the hosts and the coach was pleased that his players showed such good spirit.

Samuel Eto'o put the Blaugrana in front just before half time only for Osasuna to score twice after the restart, but further goals from Xavi and Lionel Messi saw the away team triumph.

“I thought that we played with fire in the latter part of the second half," Guardiola told reporters. “We put in an extraordinary performance in the first period, but we did not do the business in the second until we were behind.

“We found it hard to push ourselves into the game while Osasuna were on a roll. We were not playing the right way and it was the talent of the players that pulled us through.”

Guardiola did draw some positives from the game as he thinks that his squad can learn from the encounter in order to not commit the same mistakes in other games this term.

“It was a good lesson for the future to show we are not the champions of anything yet," he continued. “There are still a lot of matches to go.

“In the second half you could see our weaknesses and we cannot afford to go down that route”.
