The Blaugrana's economic vice-president, Joan Boix, has announced that a plan is being put into place for the club's third visit and revealed why they are are returning.
Last summer Barça played in front of huge crowds in the United States and there was great interest in their visit and they hope that they can build on that.
"We will return to the United States," Sport quote Boix as saying. "It is not all confirmed, but that is the plan.
"It is a market that we want to be part of because of the level of interest and income that Barça can generate there. Playing games over there creates income and there is incredible potential."
While other major clubs head to the Far East to try and bolster their finances, Barça have the added interest of working with the United Nations in New York as part of their tour.
After a brief visit to Scotland in July, Barça scored emphatic victories against Chivas and New York Red Bulls in the United States in August before heading back for the Champions League qualifiers.
