Real Madrid might be a club in trouble at the moment but hopes are high around the Bernabéu following the arrival of Juande Ramos.

The former Sevilla coach came in to replace Bernd Schuster and whilst he lost his first La Liga match to Barcelona, he has received praise for the performance.

Furthermore, the players seem to have nothing but respect for him, as illustrated by Gonzalo Higuaín today.

"I would class him as a serious coach, who talks with the players, and that is good," the Argentine told Marca.

"We are going strong in training and I expect that we will see the fruits of our work soon. Each coach has their own methods and one must respect that, but we are coaching well."

Real Madrid face Valencia this weekend in what is a key match, that could either see them enter the Christmas break in fourth or in eighth. Higuaín is under no illusions that the outcome for them is vital in terms of their season.

"On Saturday we have a crucial game," he declared.

"It will allow us to be relaxed over Christmas, and then we can confront the Champions League."

Indeed, the draw for the Champions League is made tomorrow and whilst there are some strong teams in the pot to face Los Blancos, Higuaín is not picky.

"If a team wants to win the Champions League they will have to fight against all the other teams. Whoever we get, we will face with a lot of responsibility and we will try to do everything possible to win," he mused.
