When things aren't going well they aren't going well, and today Real Madrid's miserable weekend was compounded by the news that defender Pepe picked up an injury in the loss to Getafe.
The Portuguese international finished the match with a knock and after tests it has been confirmed today that he will be out for three to four weeks.
That means that the defender will miss the key matches against Sevilla, Barcelona and Valencia in the league, and will also not be able to play against Zenit St. Petersburg in the Champions League.
Real Madrid had already lost both Wesley Sneijder and Miguel Torres to injury during the 3-1 defeat to Getafe and this injury will further worsen the blow.
The defending La Liga champions currently sit fourth in the table but they are six points off the leaders Barcelona.
