Robben: Italians Do Not Know How To Stop Me

Dutch winger Arjen Robben is back to full fitness and is hopeful that he can help Real Madrid to beat Juventus - la Vecchia Signora - en-route to a tenth European Cup triumph for los Merengues.

After returning to Bernd Schuster's first-team, Robben has been looking for consistency and thinks that playing Juve will give him the spur he needs to push on.

"I like to play against Italian teams because they are not used to wingers and they do not like it," he told AS.

"Against Roma last season I had one of my best games for Madrid and I hope to do well against Juve this week."

Madrid have won the Champions League trophy on nine occasions and Robben believes that the club can make it in to double figures by lifting the Cup in Rome in May.

"For us this European Cup is special. Madrid has nine, and ten is a symbolic number. The tenth would be very important in the history of the club and I know the fans want us to [win it]," he continued.

"I also think that this is our year and I can state that it is also the feeling of the rest of the players.

"Last year was very bad because we played well enough against Roma but still lost. In the Bernabéu we have to win all our games and it is clear that we cannot do so now."

Robben met up with Madrid legend Gento, who helped Los Merengues to win Europe's most important club trophy six times, but does not think he can match that record.

"It is an honour to meet Gento, he is a phenomenon. He won six European Cups and no player in the history of the game has matched that," the Dutchman explained.

"Gento was unique in the history of Real Madrid and he is incredible. I came to Real Madrid to win trophies, but I think that winning six European Cups may be a bit difficult."
