The Atletico Madrid star has led his side's impressive Liga campaign with 21 goals in 25 appearances, and the 23-year-old is in awe of his compatriot.
"Falcao is blessed and he's a wonderful person too," he told Fifa.com.
"He's the best centre-forward in the world and whenever he gets on the ball, he scores. It's an amazing experience to have him as a team-mate."
Looking ahead to the national team's upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Venezuela, Gutierrez said he was hoping for six points from the two encounters.
"We haven’t achieved anything yet, but we have won three vital games that have put us in among the direct qualification places," Guterriez told Fifa.com.
"[Bolivia and Venezuela] are going to be very tough opponents but I think we can take all six points."
