Deportes Tolima, who beat Boyaca Chico 1-0, still lead the Colombian Championship, while Deportivo Pereira have continued their good run of results after defeating America de Cali 2-1.
Tolima managed to overcome a difficult Chico side courtesy of a strike from Jorge Perlaza in the 26th minute. They have extended their lead to four points, and look set to qualify for the semi-finals.
Deportivo Pereira are also on track for a semi-final spot, after a hard fought victory over America. Uruguayan striker Leonardo Medina and Darwin Quintero gave Luis Fernando Suarez's side the victory, and they currently find themselves in third place, with 21 points.
Independiente de Santa Fe remain in second spot, despite a 1-0 loss to Deportivo Cali. Pablo Batalla of Argentina scored the only goal of the encounter.
While, five-time Colombian champions, Atletico Junior, picked up a 2-2 draw at Deportes Quindio, and Independiente Medellin edged Once Caldas 3-2 in an absolute thriller.
In other results of round twelve of the championship, Envigado thrashed Atletico Bucaramanga 4-1, La Equidad drew 2-2 with Atletico Huila, and Millonarios eased past Deportivo Pasto after a 4-0 win. Finally, Atletico Nacional recorded a crucial 1-0 victory over Cucuta Deportivo.
