The president of Olimpia claimed that his side has rejected a multi-million dollar bid from Palmeiras for their star striker Pablo Zeballos...
The Verdao have been looking for a new forward to bolster a thin attacking lineup, and ABC report that their sights had been fixed on the 25-year-old Paraguay international to join Kleber and Luan in the Sao Paulo club.
Decano chief Marcelo Recanate however poured cold water on the deal, stating that he had rejected a $5million bid for Zeballos which seems to rule him out as an option for the club.
The striker has been one of the best players in Paraguay in recent years, returning from Mexico in 2009 for an excellent spell in Cerro Porteño before signing for Olimpia at the start of 2011; Zeballos has notched eight goals in nine games as the side has rocketed to the top of the table.
He has not been without controversy however, incurring the wrath of Cerro fans due to his move to their bitter rivals. Family members even reported receiving death threats in the run up to the Superclasico Paraguayo earlier this month, which ended in an Olimpia win.
