Reinaldo Navia and Eduardo Rubio have practically been confirmed as the latest signings of Universidad Catolica, and are expected to join the Chilean heavyweights this season.
Universidad Catolica reached the quarter-finals of the Chilean Apertura Championship, and although the club directors were satisfied with the campaign, they will be looking to go a step further next season.
Navia will return to Chilean football after many years abroad. He commenced his career with Santiago Wanderers in 1995, before moving to Mexican clubs Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Morelia, Club America, Monterrey, San Luis and Atlas.
The former Chilean international continued his career in Argentina, with Racing Club, before playing for Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito last year.
Universidad Catolica are also on the verge of snapping up Rubio, who played for the club between 2002 and 2006, before moving to Cruz Azul, Colo Colo and Basel of Switzerland.
If Rubio isn't confirmed a Universidad player in the next few days, he will return to Cruz Azul.
