UEFA Cup hopefuls Ajax have received some disturbing news from the treatment table in the aftermath of the 2-1 loss against French side Olympique de Marseille.
Swedish midfielder Rasmus Lindgren sustained a concussion in the match and could possibly miss several fixtures. The former Groningen star had to leave the pitch in the 23rd minute after being elbowed by Marseille midfielder Lorik Cana.
It's not yet known exactly how long Lindgren, who was replaced by Robbert Schilder, will be unavailable for. However, he will certainly miss the Eredivisie match against De Graafschap.
The injury comes at a very bad time for Ajax. The Amsterdam side are already without midfielders Gabri, Jan-Arie van der Heijden, Mitchell Donald, Jan Vertonghen and Siem de Jong due to various injuries.
