Earlier reports suggested that Heerenveen winger Roy Beerens was on his way back to Eindhoven side PSV, but the reigning Eredivisie title holders are not the only team interested in signing the tricky winger.
According to AD/Sportwereld, PSV's rivals Ajax are also closely monitoring the 21-year-old's situation. Additionally, Feyenoord, AZ and Twente are chasing the attacker.
Beerens's current Heerenveen deal expires in 2010, but De Superfriezen are desperate to renew his current contract. However, it remains to be seen whether the talented youngster will stay in Friesland.
The former PSV starlet, who has a limited fee release clause of €8.5 million in his current contract, has already made it clear that he'd be delighted to return to Eindhoven, while he also stated that Ajax are an interesting option.
Heerenveen won't let go of their star player on the cheap though. They are reluctant to negotiate a transfer, so any interested teams will have to table €8.5 million to secure Beerens's services.
