According to Voetbal International, Eredivisie giants PSV are interested in signing VVV's Japanese playmaker Keisuke Honda. The midfielder's current contract expires in 2011.
The Eindhoven side are in the market for an attacking midfielder following Inter's interest in Ibrahim Afellay. The Holland international is very much likely to leave PSV this summer for a bigger club.
However, it remains to be seen whether PSV will succeed in signing the 22-year-old VVV star. The Venlo side have reportedly set an asking price of €10 million for the left footed midfielder.
Additionally, PSV face stiff competition to secure the services of Honda. The Japanese international has also attracted the interest of Ajax, AZ, Twente, NAC Breda, Bayer Leverkusen, Fulham and Bolton Wanderers.
Honda started his professional career at Nagoya Grampus Eight and signed for his current side about a year ago. He immediately developed into an important first team member at VVV and scored 13 goals in 27 league appearances this campaign.
