Eredivisie outfit Heerenveen have received some disturbing news from the treatment table following the 2-1 league win against rivals Groningen. Two players have sustained injuries and are doubtful for the upcoming match against Sparta.
Highly rated playmaker Danijel Pranjic sustained a groin injury and had to leave the pitch within 15 minutes due to the knock. He was being replaced by Icelandic youngster Arnor Smarason.
It's not yet known how long the Croatian international will be unavailable due to his groin trouble, but club physician Erik ten Voorde has made it clear that Pranjic will very much likely miss Saturday's match against Sparta.
The 27-year-old has been one of the key men for Heerenveen this campaign and has already scored 15 league goals. He recently expressed his desire to move to a bigger club this summer.
Additionally, holding midfielder Michal Svec has sustained an injury too. The Czech youngster is being plagued by knee trouble and is also doubtful for the Sparta clash.
