Eredivisie outfit Groningen have received some disturbing news from the treatment table. Highly-rated forward Nicklas Pedersen will be sidelined for some time longer due to injury.
The 21-year-old striker sustained an ankle injury about a month ago and has been struggling to get fully match fit again ever since. He was expected to be ready for action again by now, but a recovery setback means that Pedersen needs to summon all his patience.
The hot prospect signed for Groningen from Nordsjaelland last January and made his official league debut in the match against Ajax. Pedersen sustained his current injury in the following match against ADO Den Haag and hasn't played a match since then.
Pedersen signed a contract at his new club which will not expire until 2013, so the youngster will have plenty of time to prove his worth after his recovery.
