Mtiliga To Leave NAC Next Summer
Breda side NAC are currently atop the table and are one of the surprises of this year's Eredivisie. Nevertheless, left back Patrick Mtiliga has issued his desire to move on...
NAC have won five of their first six matches and are currently sitting first in the Eredivisie with fifteen points. Despite the good results, they might lose their Danish defender Patrick Mtiliga after he announced his wish to move abroad.
The 27-year-old started his professional career at Danish side Kopenhagen and also played for Excelsior and Feyenoord before signing for Breda side NAC in 2006. He has quickly developed into an important first team player at the Brabant team.
However, his current deal at NAC expires at the end of the season and it looks like he has set his mind to a move abroad at the end of the season.
Technical director Earnest Stewart has acknowledged the fact that NAC might face an impossible task to hold on to their Danish star and has targeted Ajax defender Robbert Schilder as Mtiliga's replacement.
"Schilder is a very versatile player who can play as a defender and as a midfielder, too. Nevertheless, we still hope that we can hold on to Patrick [Mtiliga]," stated the NAC chief.
