Ronaldo To Play In Serie B?
Former Inter striker Ronaldo could find himself playing Serie B football for high-flying Sassuolo, according to Il Giorno...
The Brazilian star is set to make his return to the pitch tonight in a charity match in Marocco which will also see Zinedine Zidane involved.
Ronnie is still clubless after he was released by Milan following his knee injury.
However, this could all change as Il Giorno claims Sassuolo chief Giorgio Squinzi is ready to make his move for the hit-man.
The businessman has taken the Bolognese club to a whole new level having won the Serie C championship last term, the team are now leading Serie B and they look set for Serie A promotion.
With this in mind, Ronaldo may be the key to help push the minnows into Italy's top division.
Squinzi believes in the dream. Many will remember Villarreal's and Chievo Verona's incredible fairy tale stories and the chief is hoping to do the same with his side.
"Everyone has been telling me that I need to buy a striker in the January transfer window," Squinzi told Il Giorno.
"We need someone to help us out and I could contact Ronaldo. His intentions are to play at the highest level again and, perhaps, starting off from a level below may suit him."
It's unlikely Ronaldo will be tempted by a potential offer to ply his trade in Serie B.
His agent recently refused an attempt by Serie A side Siena, saying they were not a big enough club for the striker.
