Poll of the Day: Who has been the Premier League signing of the summer so far?

England's big boys have been busy in the transfer market already but we want to know who has done the best business ahead of the new top-flight season?

What would the Premier League summer be without the annual transfer merry-go-round? A dark place, I fancy.

The weather has not been great on British shores but the country's top clubs have been making up for that with some big moves ahead of the new season.

Arsenal and Chelsea got things going early with moves from the Bundesliga. Marko Marin moved to Stamford Bridge from Werder Bremen while the Gunners snapped up Germany striker Lukas Podolski, who then went on to have a disappointing Euro 2012 with die Nationalelf.

Joining Marin in west London will be Eden Hazard. After a protracted chase involving just about every top club in Europe, the Blues sealed a deal to bring the Belgian to Stamford Bridge – which was helped greatly by the Blues’ Champions League win. The attacking midfielder has been voted Player of the Year in Ligue 1 for the past two seasons, will that form also transfer to the Premier League?

Tottenham finished fourth last season but were denied a place at Europe's top table by Chelsea's win in Munich. Andre Villas-Boas has arrived as manager and the club have also plundered the market for Gylfi Sigurdsson, who impressed at Swansea last season, and Jan Vertonghen, Ajax's title-winning captain.

Across north London there has been another arrival at the Emirates. Robin van Persie looks set to leave Arsenal at some point in the near future, but Arsene Wenger has brought in Olivier Giroud after the imposing striker fired Montpellier to the Ligue 1 title last season - can Giroud replace the Dutchman's vital goals?

Manchester United were just piped to the title by neighbours Manchester City last season so they have subsequently acted to try and prove their rivals’ victory was a one-off, as Shinji Kagawa has arrived at Old Trafford charged with setting up and scoring the goals to fire the Red Devils to the title.
