Uruguay collected a record 15th Copa America title after a comprehensive 3-0 victory in Sunday's final over Paraguay.

It was an unusual tournament where the two favourites, Brazil and Argentina, exited at the quarter-final stage while one of the eventual finalists, Paraguay, failed to win a game in normal time throughout the entire competition.

The usual suspects were not at their best, however, there were some star performers including Uruguayan trio Diego Lugano, Egidio Arevalo and Luis Suarez who were crucial to their success.

Paraguay's run to the final was built around goalkeeper and skipper Justo Villar, while Peru received a Golden Boot contribution from Paolo Guerrero towards their third-place finish.

Oswaldo Vizcarrondo and Juan Arango were also major contributors, in surprise package Venezuela's run to the final four.

So, who was the best player at the 2011 Copa America?
