It's a new era for les Bleus, but will it be a fortuitous one?

On Tuesday night, France will meet one of their toughest opponents yet since the much needed takeover by Laurent Blanc. It hasn't been an easy transition for the French tactician, as he opted to make wholesale changes to the national side, dumping the entire squad that performed so poorly in the 2010 World Cup.

Things looked encouraging at first as Blanc's new-look Bleus seemed to get off the blocks well during his first match in charge, a friendly against Norway. However, the team lost their edge midway through and conceded twice, eventually losing 2-1 to the hosts.

It looked as through the coach was on to something good though, and that he would just have to make a few tweaks here and there. However, having lost at home to Belarus in his first competitive match, people are starting to look to Blanc for better results.

Us fans know that all great things take time, but with so little in terms of striking talent, Laurent Blanc seems to have a harder task ahead of him than we had first imagined.

Now, coming up against an attacking duo of Hoffenheim's Vedad Ibesevic and Wolfsburg's more prolific Edin Dzeko, the boys in blue will be put to the test when they meet this gritty Eastern European side.

Florentino Perez is being unsurprisingly amicable with this whole thing, but there are stings and barbs for Jose Mourinho buried in some of his words, such as: "Achievements this season haven't been sufficient for demands of a club such as Real Madrid, or a coach like Mourinho."

We have no pre-contract signed with any manager. This is something we have to look at over the coming days
