Poll Results: Andrei Arshavin Will Join Arsenal

The readers have spoken, and a convincing majority believe that Andrei Arshavin's oft-rumoured move to the Gunners will go ahead...

Andrei Arshavin - Russia (PA)
Yesterday we asked whether or not Andrei Arshavin's switch from Zenit St. Petersburg to Arsenal was likely to go ahead in the January transfer window.

The results from our voters ran as follows:

Yes: 67%
No: 33%

Clearly, then, despite the stand-off between the two sides over a fee, and the angry declarations of Arshavin's agent (see here), there remains some optimism that it will proceed.

We also took this issue to our Arsenal forums, where the outcome was mixed.

User 'realgunner' said:

"better for us if arshavin dont come to arsenal

1) hes too greedy

2) other players at arsenal will demand more wages after seeing a "newbie" getting 96k a week

3)his fav club changes every transfer window. He aint loyal at all and will move from arsenal if someone offer him more money"

But 'cartts' responded:

"I see understand what you're saying, bro. But we seriously need a new face or two. OK Theo and Eddy are due back in the next 2-4 week...so i read. But we still need someone or two.

As for your synopsis of Arshavin, I think you're spot on. He's clearly chasing the £££'s and if he even dare asks for anything over £60k, he deserves a SLAP!!!"

'giggs12345' pointed out:

"wat is arsenal gonna do when with arshavin when walcott comes back?

nasri is one of the best midfielders in the world and arsenal's 2nd best player (scored 2 against united!!)I'm surely nasri wont be dropped

and walcott is so good to watch and admire at such a young age, im sure you arsenal fans wouldn't want him to be dropped either

would you pick arshavin over walcott or nasri?"

While 'commandos' speculated:

"No way that he'll go, no for small sum like 20 mil €, Zenit bought Danny for 30 mil €, and Arshavin is worth al least that much."
