Goal.com Poll: Your Ballon d'Or Pick!
Goal.com invites the readers to pre-empt Tuesday's Ballon d'Or award by selecting their own Footballer of the Year...
The Ballon d'Or award is just a day away, and although Cristiano Ronaldo is an odds-on favourite to walk away with the most famous individual prize in football there are plenty of other top players to choose from, too.
The final shortlist numbers thirty competitors, but of these just a handful have any realistic chance of lifting the esteemed trophy, which was won last year by Brazilian superstar Kaka.
We want YOU, the Goal.com reader, to select your top player of 2008 by voting in our poll, and tomorrow when the real results are announced we'll see how your thoughts match up with those of the judging panel.
Click here to vote and we'll reconvene tomorrow for our results (as well as the real ones!)

NOTE: Due to a technical error Lionel Messi temporarily disappeared from the list of candidates. This only happened for a short time and we have repaired the poll. If you wish to vote for him you can now do so!
