thumbnail Hello,

The coach has announced that he is finalising a deal with the Europa League winners, bringing an end to reports linking him to AC Milan

Sevilla coach Unai Emery is confident he will agree a new deal to stay at the club despite reported interest from AC Milan.

Emery's future has been the subject of much discussion in recent weeks after he led Sevilla to the Europa League trophy with victory over Benfica earlier this month, as well as a fifth-placed finish in La Liga.

The former Valencia and Spartak Moscow boss was linked with a switch to replace Clarence Seedorf at San Siro, but the Italian giants have since decided to promote Filipp Inzaghi from the Primavera squad after being put off by the costs involved of signing Emery.

And the 42-year-old has now revealed he expects to sign a new deal with Sevilla in the coming weeks as he looks to build on their success in 2013-14.

"We are waiting until after the tour to finalise negotiations," he told Sevilla FC Radio.

"On Wednesday we stayed and talked about finalising a new contract.

"We are always looking for sustained growth. We have to find Sevilla's growth.

“I have always stated that I am happy at Sevilla. The Sevilla fans can be calm.

"Our season started in July and now we have finished. I am satisfied with the team's progression, our aims and also because the team seems settled."
