Belgian titans Anderlecht put in an outstanding performance in Thursday's Europa League game against Athletic Bilbao and recorded a 4-0 home win to progress to the next round.
Young striker Romelu Lukaku was one of the best performers on the pitch and opened the scoring after only four minutes before sending in a cross that was deflected into his own net by defender Mikel San Jose to make it 2-0. His team-mates were full of praise for the 16-year-old after the match.
"Lukaku played fantastically. He's just 16 years old but he's already a great player and he has a big future ahead of him, if not at Anderlecht then at one of the biggest clubs in Europe," said defender Roland Juhasz on the official UEFA website.
"He's a fantastic striker. He wins a lot of 50-50s, he's fast and he scores goals. What more can I say and what more can you ask of him?" asked Olivier Deschacht.
"I always find it easy to find him on the pitch as he's always in front of me, showing for the ball. I'm happy for him and he scored a beautiful goal," concluded playmaker M'Bark Boussoufa.
