Atheltic Bilbao coach Joaquin Caparros said he was concerned about the clubs supporters after crowd trouble marred their 3-0 win over Austria Vienna in the Europa League.

Sections of the home support fired flares and invaded the pitch resulting in a 20 minute delay to proceedings at the Franz Horr stadium in Vienna and Caparros said afterwards that the incident gives the sport a bad image.

"We had no fear for ourselves, but for our fans, for our people. We worry about our people, who come to see a show and enjoy seeing their team and I feel there could have bee a big incident," he told a press conference.

"It's a bad image for football. What happened has taken away from a highly competitive game of football. Our fans have given an example of knowing how to behave."

Two goals from Fernando Llorente and one from Mikel San Jose ensured victory and a place in the knockout stages for Los Leones and the coach says his team will savour the moment.

"It's an important victory tarnished by what has happened off the field. The important thing is to enjoy. We are in the next round, we're excited and our fans are excited," he said.
