Group K Europa League Round-Up: PSV Top Group As Hosts Prevail In Eindhoven And Copenhagen
PSV reach the next stage...
A single goal from Jonathan Reis right at the death gave PSV a narrow win over Sparta Prague, thus sending the hosts through to the next round.
The Dutch side were superior over the course of the game but were unable to find cutting edge in the final third.
Meanwhile Sparta were enjoying the occasional counter-attack that saw the first half end in nervy fashion for the hosts.
But after the break visiting goalkeeper Jaromir Blazek was the busier of the two custodians by far.
He held his own until stoppage time, when Jonathan Reis managed to scramble home a winner after a long ball from Danko Lazovic.
PSV thus finish top of Group K.
In Group K's other encounter, FC Copenhagen eliminated CFR Cluj thanks to a 2-0 home win.
Martin Vingaard scored the first goal with an unmarked finish from a William Kvist cross.
Six minutes later, Dame N'Doye gave the hosts an unassailable lead just before the break thanks to a bobbled finish from a free-kick against a CFR side unable to respond.
This sees the Copenhagen side needing only a draw to progress as they travel to Prague for the final matchday.
