Levski Sofia 0-2 Villarreal: Yellow Submarine Stop The Rot

A welcome win for Ernesto Valverde's men...

Villarreal recorded their first away win since August to secure their passage to the next stage of the Europa League while Levski Sofia remain rooted to the foot of Group G with zero points and no goals.

Levski, having little to play for, looked inferior from the outset, but with Villarreal on a dreadful run of away form there was very little by way of action in the early stages, Ibagaza's near-miss on the quarter hour mark aside.

But ten minutes before the break, Ibagaza turned provider to cross in from the left for Giuseppe Rossi to net past Bozhidar Mitrev.

After the interval, Fuster nearly added a second after a long ball forward, but not until six minutes from time was the result secure as Marcos Senna netted a solo goal to finally give the Yellow Submarine an away win, as well as qualification.

In Group G's other encounter, Red Bull Salzburg guaranteed first place with a win over now-eliminated Lazio.
