Rapid Wien Midfielder Branko Boskovic Suffers Shoulder Injury

The Montenegrin international faces a spell on the sidelines...

Austrian giants Rapid Wien have received some disappointing news from the treatment table in the aftermath of their 4-1 derby victory over Austria Wien last weekend.

Attacking midfielder Branko Boskovic picked up a shoulder injury in his side's league win and the Montenegrin international was forced to leave the pitch after 34 minutes of play.

It's not yet exactly known how long the 29-year-old will be sidelined due to the shoulder injury, but the club's medical staff indicated that Boskovic could be out until the new year.

That would rule him out of Rapid's remaining Europa League fixtures away to Hamburger SV on December 2 and, a fortnight later, at home against Celtic.

A report on the club's official website reads that Boskovic will undergo tests over the coming days to assess whether or not he requires surgery.
