Dinamo Zagreb Appeal Three Point Deduction
The Croatians have appealed UEFA's decision to take points off them following crowd trouble at a Europa League game...
UEFA have confirmed that Croatian powerhouse Dinamo Zagreb have lodged an appeal against the organisations' Control and Disciplinary Body's decision of Friday 30 October which ruled the club should be deducted three points in their Europa League group. The date of the appeals hearing is yet to be determined.
Dinamo were hit with the deduction following the crowd disturbances against Romanian side Timisoara in the Europa League on 1 October. They were also forced to play two home matches behind closed doors.
Wednesday's 2-0 loss against Dutch powerhouse Ajax was the first match they have played in an empty stadium and Zagreb will also have to make do without the support of their home fans when they take on Timisoara on December 17.
Dinamo currently sit bottom of their Europa League group with zero points after four games. Ajax and Anderlecht are in joint first with eight points, while Timisoara have collected two points.
