Carl Hoefkens Injury Blow For Club Brugge
The Europa League hopefuls will be without the Belgian international until mid-December due to a knee ligament injury...
Europa League hopefuls Club Brugge will have to make do without defender Carl Hoefkens for several weeks. The centre-back has picked up an injury and faces a spell on the sidelines.
The 31-year-old defender was injured in the match against Sint-Truiden last Saturday and a subsequent medical examination revealed the severity of the blow. Hoefkens will be out of action for six weeks with a partially torn right knee ligament.
"This is a bad moment to get injured as some important matches await us," Hoefkens told the club's official website.
Club Brugge are the Belgian league leaders and visit defending champions Standard Liege on Sunday following Thursday's UEFA Europa League trip to Partizan Belgrade.
Hoefkens is also likely to miss the away match against Shakhtar Donetsk and is doubtful for their final section meeting with French outfit Toulouse on December 16.
