thumbnail Hello,

Napoli have qualified for the first round of the UEFA Cup with a sublime 5-0 win (8-0 on Aggregate) over Albanian side Vllaznia at the San Paolo on Thursday night.

The Partenopei went into the game already 3-0 up from the first leg but rather than sit back to defend their aggregate lead, Edy Reja’s men went out gung ho and finished the job in style.

Napoli were in control from start to finish as the visitors hardly threatened with Gianello a spectator in between the sticks for the home side.

The San Paolo outfit ran riot on the night with Samuele Dalla Bona and Marcelo Zalayeta coming close early on. The former Chelsea man showed why he is still considered useful in Edy Reja’s side as he pulled the strings during the first half.

Dalla Bona should have scored when Montervino played him through but he saw his effort come back off the upright.
Edy Reja's men didn’t have to wait long for the opener though as Rinaudo latched on to a loose ball to put his side ahead on the night with a well taken finish.

The half ended with Napoli on top and more of the same was to come in the second period.

Inacio Pia made it 2-0 shortly after the restart with a nice finish on the turn before Rinaudo grabbed his second after the Albanian defence fell asleep.

Ezequiel Lavezzi returned fresh from his Olympic glories with Argentina and he marked the occasion with a well taken goal to pile more misery on the away team as the stadium went crazy.

Marek Hamsik finally completed the rout just before time when he was gifted a chance by the brilliant German Denis.

It was a great performance from a Napoli team which have shown they mean business following their return to Europe for the first time since 1994.
