Sangweni the big winner at Orlando Pirates awards
The Bafana Bafana defender won two important accolades at the Buccaneers' annual event honouring the best players from the past season
Siyabonga Sangweni was the big winner at the Orlando Pirates end of the season awards on the weekend at Orlando Stadium.The defender scooped the Player of the Season and the Carling Black Label Online Player of the Season awards.
Along with cash prizes, he walked away with a new Peugeot car. Sangweni told KickOff.com that he was very pleased with the awards.
"I want to take this opportunity to thank God for what he has done for me, giving me the chance to play football," he said.
"I also want to thank my family, team-mates, the supporters and the chairman for giving me a chance to play for this club.
"What I can promise everyone is that we will continue where we left of last season," he added.
