The former Bafana skipper seems set for a return to the South African top flight following his time in EnglandFormer South Africa captain Aaron Mokoena is on the verge of completing a move back to his home country with Bidvest Wits in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
The 31-year-old defender, South Africa’s most capped international, will leave cash-strapped English side Portsmouth, having also played for Ajax Amsterdam and Blackburn Rovers.
“Various clubs wanted to talk to him but Aaron is very interested in getting back and being part of the exciting project at Wits,” agent Paul Mitchell of Siyavuma Sports told BBC Sport.
“Everything is agreed in principle so it's just a matter of sorting things out with Portsmouth.”
Mokoena is yet another high-profile player who could be returning to South Africa, with Benni McCarthy having been a revelation at Orlando Pirates.
