South Africa left-back Tsepo Masilela has been ruled out of the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Botswana and the friendly match against Gabon after suffering a knee injury against Ethiopia.
Masilela was substituted after 30 minutes against Ethiopia and will see a specialist on Tuesday to determine the seriousness of the injury.
"As I'm talking to you I'm leaving the camp to go and see a specialist because right now I don't know how serious the injury is," the player said, according to Kickoff.com. "But I'm definitely out of the next two matches but by later this afternoon I should be able to tell the duration I will be on the sidelines."
Masilela was one of the players who came through Bafana at the same time as sacked coach Pitso Mosimane.
The defender made his international debut against Zambia at the 2006 African Nations Cup finals while Mosimane was Ted Dumitru's assistant.
But the player refused to talk about the sacking of Mosimane. "Please don't ask me what I think about that. It's too soon to start talking about such things right now."
