Doctor Khumalo eyes permanent coaching role at Kaizer Chiefs
The caretaker coach would be keen to remain at the helm of the Amakhosi if given the opportunity to do so
Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Doctor Khumalo says he would like to coach the team on a permanent basis.Khumalo, together with Arthur Zwane, is serving as an assistant to Donald 'Ace' Khuse, on an interim basis following Vladimir Vermezovic's sacking on April 12.
Doc says he will welcome the challenge if he were to be part of the technical team next season.
“If given an opportunity I wouldn’t think it will be a problem,” Khumalo said to reporters.
“This is what I wanted to do and that’s the reason I went to school for it. But it is entirely up to the management, if they look around locally,” he added.
Chiefs, however, have been linked with European coaches Stuart Baxter and Carlos Quieroz.
