The Brazilian mentor returns to South African football to take on a new challenge with the current champions
This morning the Brazilian was unveiled to the media after penning a three-year deal. Leal replaces Ruud Krol, whose contract was not renewed despite leading Pirates to an unprecedented treble of League, MTN8 and Nedbank Cup honours.
Word from the club, according to their official website, is that Leal will bring the Brazilian influence that the club’s supporters want instead of the more methodical style that was cultivated by Krol.
Leal first made a name for himself at AmaZulu before moving to Swallows, where his stay ended badly when he was sacked and he subsequently took the club to court over outstanding money owed to him.
