thumbnail Hello,

Moroka Swallows striker Siyabonga Nomvete has vowed to put a smile on Carlos Alberto Parreira's face after he was recalled to the national team.

'Bhele', who has been capped 72 times at senior international level, had been out in the cold in recent years, but after a great finish to the season, he's earned his place.

Nomvete, who has scored four goals in the Dube Birds' last five League games, told KickOff.com he is nervous at the thought of being recalled.

"It's been years since I played for the national team and I'm nervous, because I don't know what to expect anymore," he said.

"I was not expecting this call-up to be honest," said the PSL's February/March Player of the Month.

"It is a big surprise for me. But as I always said to you guys, talking doesn't help. I kept quiet and let my feet do the talking on the field and now the coach has rewarded me with a call-up. It is now for me to go there and make him happy," Nomvete said.

"I'm not going to disappoint him. I will make sure I make him happy during my time in camp [in Germany]. I'm looking forward to it," he concluded.
