thumbnail Hello,

With the Absa Premiership on a break, football fans in Cape Town are set to be treated with some top quality football when Ajax Cape Town lock horns with Santos on January 23 in a match that will officially open the Cape Town Stadium.

The Urban Warriors CEO George Comitis, confirming this, said, “We are inviting soccer fans around Cape Town to come in big numbers and to get a feel of 2010 World Cup venue.

“We have set a limit of 2, 000 tickets for the game and urge soccer fans to start buying early. Tickets, costing R40, are already on sale at Computicket outlets.”

“There will also be number of entertainment activities at the stadium as we will use the opportunity to show the world that Cape Town is ready for the World Cup,” Comitis added.

The venue was completed recently and will be used to host eight of this year's World Cup encounters including a semi-final.
