Platinum Stars Complete Signing Of Ivory Coast Goalkeeper Noel Yobou
Platinum Stars sign Yobou on a two and a half year deal
Yobou has played at Under-23 level for his country, having begun his career at Stella Club d’Adjamé in Abidjan, but has spent the last three seasons in South Africa.
“He has good experience and will provide competition for the current number one, Tapuwa Kapini,” coach Steve Komphela said to Kickoff.com.
“We have some good, up-and-coming young goalkeepers in Allan Thomas and Dino Visser, so we feel we are strong in the glove department.”
Visser and Thomas, a national Under-20 stopper, have yet to make their PSL debuts, but are seen very much as ones for the future.
Dinaledi fans will hope to get a first sight of Yobou at the Absa Premiership encounter against Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus Stadium on Wednesday, where he will vie with Kapini for a starting position.
