Siphiwe Tshabalala Believes In South Africa Team-Mate Teko Modise

Siphiwe Tshabalala has backed his Bafana Bafana team-mate Teko Modise to recover his form.

Modise has been struggling since the Confederations Cup and in the process, has drawn heavy criticism from the media and football fans at large.

However, the Kaizer Chiefs winger believes his arch-rival at club level will shine again.

“Teko is one of the best, there is no doubt about it,” Tshabalala told KickOff.com.

“I did have a word with him, just to encourage him, but he is one guy who never lets his head down. I told him such things [going through a bad patch] happen in football and I know it is only a matter of time, before he comes right. He will recover his form at some stage.

“I feel pity for him that he’s been under fire, but he is one guy who works very hard and he will get back to form,” Tshabalala added.

Modise missed Bucs’ last two games against Ajax and Mamelodi Sundowns, as he is battling a toe injury and it is likely he could miss tomorrow’s match too against Moroka Swallows at the Orlando Stadium.
